PEAT BOG OF THE COMBE DU LAC DE LAMOURA
Perched at an altitude of 1,156 m, Lake Lamoura, the highest lake in the Jura, offers an exceptional panorama. A peat bog, a relic of the last ice age, may have been created here after a very slow evolution of what was originally an acid marsh. Adapting to a very particular environment, the flora and fauna that live here are exceptional. An interpretive trail protecting these fragile environments, from which we must not deviate, offers a thematic route of 4.5 km (approximately 1h30), around the lake. Enough to enrich the discovery. In summer, a beach by the lake also offers swimming (supervised by a lifeguard).
