JUMPING INTERNATIONAL DE BLAYE
This is a high-level sporting competition that also has the particularity of being an essential festive event in Blayaise life. Every year, the moat of the Citadel welcomes the best riders in France in front of 4,000 spectators every day. In 2013, the Blaye International Jumping became a 2-star international competition. So many paths have been covered since the creation at the beginning, of a small training session organised on the banks of the Gironde by two men, Henri Delage (breeder and owner of the famous Olympic horse Jappeloup) and Titou Vallaeys (top-level sportsman in high jump), breeder of Jappeloup and father of the current president of the competition ! Since its creation in 1977, entry to the Blaye Jumping is still free and open! A (unsupervised) car park is even available to the public. The 42nd edition of the Jumping took place from 11 to 14 July 2019.
