Guided tours proposed by the tourist office, to discover the underground passages of the citadel of Blaye

Throughout the year, the Blaye Tourist Office offers guided tours of the underground passages of the citadel, a UNESCO World Heritage site. In these stone corridors, you will walk in the footsteps of Louis XIV's garrisons, in charge of protecting the Gironde estuary. This one-hour tour in the bowels of the citadel allows you to understand the functioning of the fortress' defensive system. The rest of the citadel is accessible free of charge, and for a small supplement you can visit the old prison and the archaeological museum.

Opening time and information on Guided tour of the underground passages of the Blaye citadel

Guided tours of the citadel through the underground passages every day except December 25th and January 1st. Departure at 2:30 pm from November 1st to February 29th. In March, April, May, until June 22nd and from September 21st departure at 2.30pm every day + a departure at 4pm on weekends and public holidays. From 22 June to 20 September departures at 11am, 2pm, 3.30pm and 5pm. Adult: 7 €. Child (from 5 to 12 years old) : 5 € (free - 5 years old).

Un accueil parfait, ambiance détendue mais efficace, mixage carte et menu du jour sans problème, cuisine élaborée et surprenante, salle cosy et vue imprenable sur la Gironde.

Le point fort du restaurant: le cadre et la vue. Sur le service il y a un gros effort à faire !! 5 serveurs différents durant le service, qui nous pose les mêmes questions, oublie du pain, envoie du plat enfant pas en même temps que les autres. Vous rajoutez des plats pas donné niveau rapport qualité prix (ne parlons pas des tapas…). Bref pas top top
