Cruise around the three Vauban forts
Cruise to Blaye, a commented river trip that allows you to discover in 2 hours the Vauban triptych
An emblematic site of girondin tourism, the Vauban lock is walking on foot. Protecting the entrance of the Gironde estuary, the three buildings of Sebastien Vauban are connected by a ferry and a trail of 2.2 km. From the citadel of Blaye, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a ferry runs through the Gironde regularly to Port Lamarque, passing through the island on which Fort Paté stands. The journey lasts 30 min and costs 3.20 € (go). From Port Lamarque, the trail leads you to the third building: Fort Médoc. This simple itinerary offers very beautiful views and can be done in both directions.
The novelty since 2016 is the commented fluvial ride that allows to discover the Vauban triptych in 2 hours.
