THE HOUSE OF THE METER
A museum where you can learn more about the history of measurement before it became universal in Longchaumois
The Prost-Rosset Frères workshop, set up in 1866, is located in this 1792 house. Pierre-Emile and Henri manufactured metal folding meters, in brass (80%), copper, steel, nickel silver... A flourishing business over time, the company changed names, evolved and passed from one family member to the next. The museum is an ideal place to discover the different stages of production, and to learn more about the craftsmanship involved... The museum also provides an insight into the history of measurements before they became universal.
