Founded in Bordeaux on 16 November 1929 by Jules Hourcade, a visually impaired poet, under the name of the Union des Blind, the National Blind and Visually Impaired Union, UNADEV, aims to improve the daily lives of visually impaired, blind and visually impaired persons. This structure disseminates all information that may interest blind people and others. In addition, the UNADEV is equipped with sports rooms, adapted music and offers multiple services: reception area, professional insertion - company Receive -, guide dog school, auxiliary of life and social accompaniment.
