World renown, the parent house in London, has been struggling for many years to fight for the release of political prisoners. His action also took place against the death penalty and the abolition of torture. Amnesty International is independent of the government, any economic power, political tendencies or religious belief. Its sole concern is to contribute impartially to the protection of human rights. Its activities revolve around seven main themes: to develop respect for others and to combat all forms of discrimination, to claim justice and to combat impunity, to defend the physical and mental integrity of all, to defend the rights of persons in armed conflict, to promote and protect the rights of uprooted persons, to promote the rights of women, to advance economic and social rights. She also supports Gay Pride on Bordeaux.
