BIBLIOTHÈQUE DU CAPC
The library of the Musée d 'art contemporain de Bordeaux consists of a fund of about 40,000 books and magazines on the artistic creation of the twentieth century (artists, movements, architecture, photography, design, museology, aesthetics) and especially since the 1960 s. Open to the public, it is aimed particularly at students and researchers and proposes a collection of more than 200 videos. It invites authors to present their books and organizes interviews with personalities in the art world. The published catalogs bring together valuable sources on artists who are temporarily exposed but also on artists in the collection. Books are not lent, only searchable on site and by appointment (free reproduction bench, pay photocopies). The photo gallery currently manages 100,000 photographs of all media (reproductions of works, portraits of artists, set of records archiving the visual memory of CCAA events). This service is committed to digitizing its fund for rapid and efficient dissemination. The library is also subscribed to about sixty journals.
