BIBLIOTHÈQUE DU MUSÉE D’AQUITAINE
With over 100,000 documents, the library of the Aquitaine Museum is located on the premises of the former library of the Faculty of Letters and Sciences of Bordeaux.
This open library is specialized in history, archeology and ethnography. You will also find a documentary fund on the history of Bordeaux and its region as well as documents on conservation, restoration and museum work in general. The library has some outstanding books and has been enriched by several donations (private collections by Robert Coulon and François Bordes). There are also academic works and collections of old and contemporary periodicals: The Revue Historique de Bordeaux, the Philomathic Journal, the Studies in Conservation, the French Prehistoric Society, Archeologia, Quaternary Cahiers, Anthropology, etc. It reflects quite well the diversity of the collections of the Aquitaine Museum. Works in open or in-store access are available on site.
