Starred bistro restaurant with a warm atmosphere and a panoramic view of Bordeaux.

An extension of the Michelin-starred Saint-James restaurant, Café de l'Espérance boasts gourmet cuisine and a warm ambience. In this gastronomic bistro full of charm, brasserie recipes and local produce take pride of place: marinated Pyrenean trout, crispy chipirons with lemon balm aioli, entrecôte steak with Béarnaise sauce, rack of pork with glaze... And when it comes to desserts, everything is gourmet! The welcome is friendly and the team highly professional. After your meal, enjoy the splendid panoramic view over Bordeaux.

Personally, I prefer to eat in the room where there is the bar - brasserie ambience. In the dish the quantities are correct and leave without hunger, especially so as you all-you-can-eat buffet (13euros, if not £7 for a hearty full dish but) and the same for dessert (£6). Starters and desserts, it is traditional, as the main courses. In short, there do not look for something special, but it is good, quantity is and it is the main one. I go back always with pleasure. It is best to book in week (for the summer season it is a little quieter).
The wines are a little expensive, including too often in the restaurants of Bordeaux (an average x3). Make le tore church while setting again, the view of Bordeaux is very nice.
In short: a reliable, do not hesitate.
