CHATEAU DE LIDONNE
Wine from the first slopes of the river, the production of the Château de Lidonne is intimately linked to the Dordogne, which flows down the vineyard. After a traditional vinification made of stainless steel vat and a minimum ageing of 18 months, this Côtes-de-Bourg is bottled on site. You discover in the shade of hundred-year-old cedars one of the oldest vineyards in the Gironde, property of the Archbishop of Bordeaux in the 15th century and then operated by a religious brotherhood that hosted the pilgrims on the way to Saint-Jacques. Today, the stones, which have retained the mark of the past, are a setting of choice to taste this wine, sold from €4.70 to €5.50 depending on the vintage (available: 1997 to 2003).
The opinion of œnologists on the Château de Lidonne Côtes-de-Bourg 2001: beautiful ruby garnet color. The palate is fine and balanced. Pretty red fruits return. A wine of guard.
