BARNARDINE CONVENT
In 1652, nuns from this Cistercian order devoted to the education of girls came from Annecy. The convent of the Bernardine was built later in the th century. Sold as a national revolution in the Revolution, he became a military depot tower, prison, seminar, gendarmerie. He has regained his vocation of origin, teaching, welcoming the college of Orgelet since 1988. The chapel, which is based on Tuscan pilasters, has been home to the multi-ethnic library since 2002. The façade, with its double-stolen staircase, its three full-coat arches supported by Doric columns, is listed in the Historical Monuments inventory. Inside the library, part of the ground has been glass, leaving the old tiles in the chapel.
