GAZEBO OF THE MAQUISARDS
Go there and contact
This viewpoint in Prémanon offers a remarkable view of Mont Fier, and a chance to evoke the history of this place of remembrance.
The Belvédère des Maquisards offers a lovely view of the Bienne valley and the Turu rock, once dug out for the streetcar that ran from Nyon in Switzerland to Morez via Les Rousses. It's also a place of remembrance. In August 1944, the battle of Turu pitted maquisards against the Germans who had taken up residence in the fort of Les Rousses. Four marked hiking trails from 5.5 km to 18.5 km are available, starting from Prémanon village center (next to the bus stop), head towards Chez Jeankessis (yellow markings).
