CHÂTEAU CISSAC
Marie Vialard is the direct descendent of Jacques Mondon, vineyard purchaser in 1845. She manages this historic estate assisted by Laurent Saint Pasteur, technical manager. Château Cissac extends on a hundred hectares mainly planted in Cabernet – sauvignon, but also in Merlot and 5% in Petit Verdot, composed of sandy bank gravel recovering an argilo-calcareous soil. The vineyard extends from a single unit, protected by the village of Cissac and forests that surround it. In order to maintain the quality and the prestige of their wines from Haut-Médoc designation, the château is still in constant improvement and optimises techniques of winemaking respecting the local and grape varieties. Neighbour of prestigious Saint-Estèphe and Pauillac, it is a beautiful place to explore a little more the Médoc wines.
Opinion of oenologists: Château Cissac 2009: garnet colour with purplish reflections, beautiful intensity. From the nose, black fruits (blackcurrant), pepper and woody aroma prevail. Pretty tannins, volume, fat and a beautiful length for this wine.
