Church, one of the oldest foundations in Gironde, inspired by the basilica structure and a monastic destination
Legend has it that the church of Saint-Martin was founded by Charlemagne in 781. Inspired by the basilica structure, it was probably originally intended as a monastery. This listed church is certainly one of the oldest foundations in Gironde. A richly decorated 17th-century wooden pulpit is the only piece of furniture to have escaped the destruction caused by the collapse of the vault.
