CHÂTEAU NOGUÈS
Dominique Bertram gladly and warmly welcomes visitors to his property for a visit of the winery. Exciting explanations and wine tasting to close the whole thing! In 1986, Dominique Bertram returned to his roots by taking over the old plots and replanting new ones. Entirely hand-picked, the vines are then divided between Merlot (40 %), Cabernet Sauvignon (40 %) and Cabernet Franc. They give birth to a distinctive red Bordeaux, full-bodied and tannic. The white Bordeaux comes from a grape variety mainly made of Sauvignon (90 %), the rest being Semillon. The ageing period is 26 months, including 12 to 15 months in barrels for Château Noguès. Since 1999, all production has been certified in Bordeaux supérieur. Looking for quality rather than quantity, the yield is deliberately limited to 48 hl in red. Opposed to any chemical treatment of its wines, the farm has been operating in organic agriculture since 2009. Also worth noting: very low prices and a good quality as the wines age.
