The sale of shellfish is an important part of the activity of the Arcachon basin. Oysters are all honoured and outlets are not lacking, especially in markets and in ostréicoles ports, including those very gay in Gujan-Mestras. The port of Yard, with its mill of 1808, is probably one of the most authentic, with its ice of "pockets" and its rows of small wooden huts where you can directly taste oysters accompanied by the traditional glass of white wine. If you wish, some oyster oyster offer on reservation, a tasting with comments and explanations, a guided tour of oyster parks with tasting, or a half-day break at the tide to better understand their daily work.
