ÉGLISE SAINT-JEAN D'ESTAMPES
Church of neo-Romanesque style known for its tetramorph representing Christ surrounded by evangelists and its western portal.
Dedicated to Saint John of Etampes, this church owes its name to the presence of a Templar settlement on the site of one of the oldest houses in the town. The monument was rebuilt in the neo-Romanesque style by a disciple of Viollet Le Duc and has just been renovated. The church of La Brède is known for its tetramorph: Romanesque representation of the four evangelists around the Christ in majesty of the vision of Ezekiel, transcribed by Saint John in the Apocalypse.
