Located in the heart of the Graves appellation, the Château Méric et Chante l'Oiseau estate covers 30 hectares, including 26 hectares of vines mainly in red. The particularity of the vineyard is elsewhere! Let's go back in time, when the grandfather of the current owner Benjamin - 7th generation - returns from the War... The motto that could have been his, "a healthy mind in a healthy body", will quickly take on its full meaning in the vineyard. Refusing to take the merits of chemicals at face value, Château Méric Chante l'Oiseau will conduct its own experiment. For two years, to compare, we will cultivate 2 organic plots and 2 chemical plots here. The result was not long in coming and this is how this family property was one of the first to produce organic products in the Bordeaux region. It's now the 1960s! The grandfather himself made machines that did not yet exist. Were they all crazy? Many have thought so. Even today, crops are treated only with mineral products and plant extracts. In short, a property and a history to discover during a visit! Château Méric Chante l'Oiseau is on the Route des Vins en Graves et Sauternes.
