This church is proud of the people of Lamarque. With its lead dome, it offers panoramic views of the estuary, its islands and the vineyard. In fine weather, you can even see the bridge of Aquitaine. The church, built from 1838, almost lost its most beautiful asset in the late 1960 s. Its dome threatened to collapse, and the budget of the commune did not allow it to be restored. It took until 2005 for the church's hair to be renovated and for its faithful to enjoy the little jewel that you have before. The visitor enters the dome by a unique staircase of its kind, sometimes right, sometimes in a spiral. He may remind cinemakers of the film "The Name of the Rose". It has a fantastic and poetic side that is worth a detour.
