A village of mansions with half-wild streets leading down to the beach at Lanton.
The village of Taussat-les-Bains is a real gem, home to perfectly preserved 19th-century residences such as the Villa Bagatelle, once owned by a friend of the famous painter Toulouse-Lautrec. Toulouse-Lautrec lived here at the end of his life, as revealed by a stele erected in his honor in 2001. The half-wild, sandy alleyways lead down to the beach. This is perhaps the best way to discover the majestic and enigmatic Arcachon Basin.
