Food was good, but not amazing. Way overpriced for the portion, although the waitress did tell us that portions will be small and suggested we take one of each dish on the menu.
Attitude from the waitress was confusing. She was nice and polite but when asked for recommendations she said “I don’t know, menu is changing everyday, and I don’t know what you like”. For a restaurant on the “Paris list to eat”, that’s poor. She then described 5 dishes on the menu very briefly. ????????
Cookies were good and flavours were unique but not mind blowing.
Overall, so overhyped, won’t be coming back and don’t recommend.

Was so excited to try Mokonuts as I’ve heard great things about it but ended up being disappointed.
Food was good and fresh but very expensive for what it is and portion sizes. When we asked the waitress for recommendations, she didn’t give us an answer but suggested we get one of each dish as the portions are small.
We ended up getting all 3 starters, a main to share and the famous cookies. The quality of the ingredients were good but flavors were nothing very special, except the cookies which were unique (although I don’t think I’d get them again).
Overall, it was a decent experience but i think you can get better food and service for this price at other places. Overhyped imo!

The food was the only positive part of our experience. We rushed (literally sprinted) here to make our lunch reservation since our flight was delayed. We made it right on time and this was our first experience in Paris. We ordered wine and appetizers but the owner kept pushing us to order an entree but there was only 2 options and we didn’t want either of them, especially since we had just landed and barely checked into our hotel. She was very pushy and made comments like she would appreciate if we would order one. We refused but we each got a dessert. We didn’t understand why she had to be so pushy. There were 2 of us, we each had to wine, appetizers and dessert. It was very uncomfortable as people are seated very close together and they heard the entire interaction. It was not the way we expected to start our trip but luckily it was our only negative experience.

My husband and I got a surprise reservation here for our 12th anniversary after our wait list request was accepted (always reserve in advance) and this ended up being our favorite meal and experience in Paris.
The owner was just mind blowingly impressive. Greeting, serving, cooking, expoing, busing, etc. Please take time to appreciate this as part of the experience. The menu is small, so go if you have an open culinary mind and trust the process, the team will not lead you astray! (Think more chef’s table experience).
We ordered all 3 courses and several drinks and could have had it all again for dinner! We will be back on our next return!

I've been wanting to go here for a while and on a previous trip to Paris last year I didn't get a chance to plan in advance and wasn't able to snag a reservation for Friday and they are closed on the weekends.
This trip to Paris was a little better planned and I managed to get a table!
It's a cozy little spot and cute decor. It's incredibly small and intimate and Moko and her husband were working there along with one other staff member. On this day her daughter happened to be off school and helping out as well. It really just shows how much passion this family has!
We ordered two of their appetizers; scallops and a pasta. Both seasoned perfectly and very delicious. For the mains that day they had fish which was delicious but I absolutely loved the special puree that they had underneath it!
I came for the cookies but the cheesecake stole the show! It had a unique sweet yet savory quality to it That kept you coming back for more!

A small casual restaurant with outstanding food. Fresh ingredients and well executed dishes. Appetizers more on the average side but plats and desserts are fantastic.
The owner is super nice and energetic. My only hope is to have a slightly larger portion size:)

Amazing amazing amazing. Absolutely delicious. You can feel the love they put into their plates in every bite. Service is also impecable. Truly a pleasure to have been able to enjoy Mokonuts. Do not miss it when in Paris.

Recomiendo ampliamente.

Food was great! I had fish for both appetizer and main and absolutely loved it. Like other reviewers said, this place is packed with (north) Americans and the waitress speaks fluent English so no need to worry about not being able to read the French menu. I am giving it a 4 instead of 5 because this place is really small and the atmosphere wasn’t what I expected to dine in Paris. I wanted to leave this cramped place as soon as I finished my food. Definitely go for the food as I can just tell the chef put a lot of love in making the dishes. Book this place early (I would say at least one week before going) as they are serious about not taking walk-ins.

Simple, flavourful, beautifully plated food in a warm and welcoming place. Small portions, well paced so you feel fed and enjoy each bite.
Café is a misleading term given the quality of the food, and the price. It’s not cheap, though the recent spike in oil and produce prices have made both eating out and running a restaurant more challenging.
I discovered Mokonuts from an NYT 25 dishes to eat in Paris article and like how Hiramaya-san described food. I looked up the restaurant she and her husband had in the 11th, like their philosophy and approach to food and made a booking.
The NYT article may be why most of my fellow diners had American accents, a mix of expats and tourists like me, though a French-speaking walk-in was politely and regretfully turned away as the restaurant was fully booked. The owner knew, from my broken French grammar when I called, that switching to English would be a more efficient conversation. Much as I like bumbling with my terrible French in Paris, it’s nice to be able to exhale and not worry about saying the wrong thing or be seen as that annoying tourist that expects the world to speak English.
You know a place cares about feeding people well when they welcome solo diners. Parisians can be quite cliquey, so it was nice that this is a place where I ended up having a nice chat with the person whom I was sat next to. It had that NYC vibe, where if we were both expats we could have found a new friend to hang out with.
I think I enjoyed the experience more as it’s an owner operated place. I had 3 courses and a glass of wine and water.
24 hours later, I am still regretting not asking for an order of the cookies to go, which the regulars seem to love.
On a cold rainy day, this room behind the fogged up windows was a lovely place to be. Easy to get to on the 8 metro. Book ahead.

Must try in Paris, if you’re lucky enough to get a booking ???? Moko and Omar’s menu feels personal with just pure quality plates and gorgeous pastries. I’m looking forward to visiting again already… ???? NYT called the restaurant “radical” but honestly when you go, it just makes sense ☺️
We had 2 starters, 2 mains, drinks and a dessert to share and it made for a ‘parfait’ afternoon.

Labne:

Had a private after-hours dinner for a large group that was spectacular. Five courses, all interesting and executed on point. Great wine selection and an interesting NA option. Couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate a friend’s birthday.

We came here for breakfast.
The food tasted good, but the portions were so small that we were still hungry after we ate. We had to stop at another Boulangerie.
The price was also extremely high for the amount of food.

Booked a table for lunch ~2 weeks in advance. My significant other and I decided to go all in and try everything on the menu, and it was a decision we certainly didn't regret. Every dish we tried was an absolute delight, and the chicken we ordered was nothing short of a revelation – tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. I was impressed by how much we liked the corn and tuna soup since it's not a pairing you typically see together.
I can't recommend this place enough, and I can't wait to try their breakfast too!

The owners/hosts were so welcoming. They took time to explain the food and share their excitement about it. Our best restaurant visit in Paris. Bravo.
