ATELIERS LISON DE CAUNES
The artist Lison de Caunes has a sacred CV: Master of Art since 1998, member of the Legion d 'Honneur, president of the French Workshops, his talent and experience are recognized and admired by all. The young woman made himself known in the 1990 s when she decided to bring a technique that had fallen into oblivion to the fore: The marquetry of straw. A French tradition dating back to the seventeenth century of using the straw of rye, dried, tinted and varnished, for contemporary decoration. Today, straw marquetry is once again interested in French and foreign decorators and designers. Lison de Caunes has organized exhibitions and written books on straw marquetry and plays a major role in highlighting this humble and warm material that is the straw that is susceptible to art metamorphosis. Training courses for straw marquetry are regularly organized in the Lison de Caunes workshops.
