Lison de Caunes' own line of furniture, organizing exhibitions and introductory courses in straw marquetry
Artist Lison de Caunes has quite a resume: master of art since 1998, member of the Legion of Honor, president of the Ateliers de France and since 2015 she has launched her own line of straw marquetry furniture. Perpetuating the tradition of her grandfather, straw marquetry dates back to the 17th century and consists of using dried, dyed and varnished rye straw for contemporary decoration. Lison de Caunes has organized exhibitions and written books on straw marquetry and contributes greatly to the promotion of this material. Introductory courses in straw marquetry are regularly organized in the Ateliers Lison de Caunes. They are often crowded, so be sure to come early!
