La Chinoiserie is a real surprise. Nestled in the Paris Hyatt Madeleine hotel, near the lobby, this designer restaurant is housed in a magnificent historic glass roof from the Gustave Eiffel workshops. Decorative elements, such as the impressive panther sculpture enthroned in the middle of the room, seem to have been sourced from all over the world. The dimmed lights in the evening give the place a cozy cocoon feel, where you'll want to linger. To get you in the mood, we start with a good cocktail, the Basil & Lili being particularly refreshing if you hesitate. Then, let yourself be tempted by chef Simon Havage's gourmet and gastro menu. The "summer" menu featured, for example, cucumber gazpacho, stracciatella di burrata and dill for starters, and coquillettes with ham on the bone, comté, summer truffle and full-bodied gravy. A good address that's still confidential, so make the most of it!
