CHATEAU FONRÉAUD
Fondréaud, from the ancient French "make-reals", means "royal fountain". The legend of the estate is that in the th century, the king of England Henri II Plantagenet (husband of Aliénor d'Aquitaine) took refuge in the fountain which still plays in the castle park… The castle itself dates back to 1855. Situated on the highest point of the listrac appellation, it is surrounded by vines grown in a constant concern for respect for the environment and according to the precepts of the Cousinié Method. Château Fonréaud, the first wine in the area (52% Merlot sauvignon, 45% Merlot) is high 12 months in oak barrels.
