MUSEUM OF THE FRIENDS OF OLD LORMONT
Created in 1973 by the Association "Les Amis du Vieux Lormont", the Museum consists of 2 rooms, a reserve workshop, a book room and a library rich in approximately 100.000 genealogical records drawn up on all persons appearing on parish and municipal registers since 1906. This old museum surprises visitors through the richness of its collections, including: fishing in Lormont, images of the past (postcards), shipbuilding (exceptional panoply of augers, various tools, scaphandriers, radio-goniomêtre, the model of the "Garonne" (first French commercial steam boat, launched on 2 August 1818 in Lormont) as well as various antique objects of the daily and missing trades. It's different as a visit and we learn lots of funny things!
