CHÂTEAU LABEGORCE
At the French Revolution, the estate was divided into three parts: "Gorsse de Gorsse" where the original castle whose vineyards produced part of the vintages that have made the fame of the estate was located. "Labégorce" is in the heart of the estate with its elegant residence of neoclassic style where the vineyard has built a solid reputation of elegant-wine producer, with exquisite taste and distinguished bouquet. "Labégorce Zédé" offers margaux in the purest tradition and was elevated to the highest national rank of the Crus Bourgeois in 2003. These three areas were gathered in 2002 by Hubert Perrodo. 5 stars for the vintage Labégorce 2006 to the decanter. The castle organises tours with tasting by appointment or without.
Opinion of œnologists: Château Labégorce margaux, 2006: beautiful deep-garnet colour. Complex nose, rather smoky, woody, with notes of prunes with alcohol. Character wine! Château Labegorce, margaux, 2007, dark-garnet colour. Powerful and complex nose, fresh cassis touches, cherry, raspberry vanilla, cedar, Havana. Château Marquis d'Alesme, margaux, classified vintage wine, 2007, deep-garnet colour. Intense nose, mainly roasted bread, smoky, vanilla, black cherry, raspberry. Château Labégorce margaux, 2009: red-garnet colour. Very elegant nose where fresh fruit notes, flowery and spicy flavours blend. Same elegance in mouth where the mellowed oakiness leaves room for powerful, sweet and ripe tannins. Long final on the fruit.Château Marquis d'Alesme, Becker, margaux, 2009: dark-garnet colour, crystal clear and bright. Primeur nose, still closed. Touches of red ripe fruits, milky, on a very mellowed oakiness. The mouth turns out austere, fresh, on crunchy red fruits; the tannic structure is well built, very young, elegant. To wait.
