OLD CHURCH
The Vieille Eglise Saint-Vincent is the oldest church in Mérignac. Put to the test of fire on several occasions, first in 1853, then in 1997 and 2001, the building built in the 12th century has been able to resist and continues to stand proudly in the town of Mérignac thanks in particular to rehabilitation work. It is since these works that the Old Church of Saint Vincent has become an exhibition space dedicated to visual art. Four annual events make Mérignac a recognised exhibition venue today. The works of renowned artists such as Jacques Villeglé, Gérard Garouste, Alvarez Bravo, Robert Combas, Carole Benzaken, Jean Dieuzaide, Emile Brunet and Rip Hopkins were exhibited on the walls of the magnificent church.
