The world's oldest aeronautical museum, located on the site of Paris-Le Bourget airport, just a few minutes from Paris
Founded in 1919, it is the oldest aeronautical museum in the world and one of the most prestigious. Established on the site of Le Bourget airport since 1975, its collections have been enriched over the years, and now encompass the entire history of French and international aeronautics. From the lavishly renovated historic terminal to the tarmac, the many aircraft on display here include the first flying machines from the late 19th century, space capsules, military aircraft, helicopters... Among the emblematic pieces, the Concorde holds a special place: the first commercial supersonic still drawing crowds. Other giants include the Boeing 747, open to visitors, and the A380, which naturally found its place here. Regular exhibitions are also organized. And to help younger visitors make the most of the museum's facilities in a fun way, the museum has set up an edutainment area, "Planète Pilote", dedicated to 6-12 year-olds. By putting yourself in the shoes of a pilot or astronaut, your little ones will gain a better understanding of the various physical mechanisms of flight and propulsion. Finally, the planetarium invites you to travel among the stars: from the comfort of your seat, discover the fabulous mysteries of our universe. The site also hosts a number of events, including the Salon International de l'Aéronautique et de l'Espace in June every two years, and Ciné Tarmac in the summer!
