SAINT-SATURNIN ROMANESQUE CHURCH
Church which constitutes a very beautiful example of Romanesque art, quoted since 1268 in the Recognitiones feodorum in Aquitania
Built in the 12th and 13th centuries, it is a fine example of Romanesque art. It is mentioned as early as 1268 in the Recognitiones feodorum in Aquitania, the administrative texts of the Duke of Aquitaine. It is dedicated to Saint Saturnin, the first bishop of Toulouse, who died as a martyr around 250 A.D. Archaeological digs have unearthed sarcophagi dating back to the earliest Christian ages, making this one of the earliest testimonies of Christian penetration in the South-West.
