A former seigneurie, this estate grew in the th century to become a reference of the name within a few decades. Georges Pompidou was eager to serve him in the Elysée. In 2008, Philippe and Matthieu Cuvelier (father and son, owners of the Clos Fourtet in Saint-Emilion) took over the domain to the Theil family. They have made considerable efforts to enable the Poujeaux Castle to remain qualitative and competitive in the face of international competition.
