CHÂTEAU FONBADET
There are several reasons to stop at Château Fonbadet on the Médoc wine route. The 20 hectare property benefits from a traditional Médoc grape variety. It is located on Saint-Lambert, surrounded by the greatest classified growths of the Pauillac appellation, produces a quality Cru Bourgeois, the setting is magnificent and Pascale Peyronie's welcome is very pleasant. She shares with us her passion for the vine passed down by her father: traditional methods with manual harvesting, where each step is perfectly controlled to maintain a quality wine. After an explanation of the winemaking process and a visit to the barrel cellar, a tasting of different vintages is offered. The official classification of the Crus Bourgeois of June 2003 places Château Fonbadet among the Crus Bourgeois Supérieurs. All the wines are powerful reds with 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc, 20% Merlot and a complement of 5% Petit Verdot and Malbec.
