From the 13th century, the castle of Lugagnac, rebuilt in the 15th and 17th centuries, has preserved its elegant architecture, its octagonal tower and its watchtower. The owners run a 75-hectare vineyard estate in the Bordeaux Supérieur, Bordeaux rosé and Bordeaux dry white appellations, replanted in 1970 with nobles grape varieties: merlot, cabernet-sauvignon and cabernet franc for the reds and rosés, sauvignon and muscadelle for the whites. Lugagnac wines regularly win awards at national and international competitions.
