CAUSSARIEU MILL

The fortified mill of Caussarieu, perched on the banks of the Ciron, is an enchanting site surrounded by medieval ruins in Préchac.
Surrounded by medieval ruins dating back to the 15th century, it can be reached by footpath. The fortified mill of Caussarieu - etymology: " chausse rivière ", in reference to the Landes wading birds - is a site lost on the pretty banks of the Ciron, and therefore only accessible on foot or by canoe. It was first a wheat mill, then a flour mill (the place where parboiled flours were prepared). Although the mill is not open to the public, the surrounding area is a pleasant and picturesque spot for a country picnic.
