The fortified mill of Caussarieu, perched on the banks of the Ciron, is an enchanting site surrounded by medieval ruins in Préchac.

Surrounded by medieval ruins dating back to the 15th century, it can be reached by footpath. The fortified mill of Caussarieu (etymologically the " chausse rivière ", in reference to the Landes wading birds), is a lost site on the pretty banks of the Ciron, only accessible on foot or by canoe. It was first a wheat mill, then a flour mill (the place where parboiled flours are prepared). Although the mill is not open to visitors, the surrounding area is a very pleasant and picturesque spot for a country picnic. A pleasant gîte of the same name is located nearby
