TRAVE CASTLE
This ruined castle is freely accessible and offers a relaxing spot for walkers
On the road to Uzeste, the ruins of Château de La Trave are a reminder that we're in the land of Bertrand de Goth, aka Pope Clement V. The castle was built in 1306 by Arnaud-Bernard de Preyssac. This vast fortress was protected on one side by the river Ciron, which is fairly deep at this point, and on the other by moats. The castle was organized around four square towers and a central keep. Although in ruins, it is freely accessible and offers a relaxing spot for walkers. If you're in the area, stop by!
