Walking tour in Guyancourt, with a 10 km route, suitable to discover the sources of the Bièvre
Notice to walkers and the tireless curious: with 10 km of walking, discover the sources of the Bièvre. The walk starts at the station towards Avenue du Centre. First stop in the gardens of the Sources de la Bièvre park, where urban art has been invited. Contemporary artistic works such as the monumental sculptures by Marta Pan can be admired at leisure: the waterfalls, the steps or the perspective from which the water escapes and leads to the park itself. Then we go down to the labyrinth. We go along the pond on the left, until we meet an underground passage that leads us to the district of Bouviers, where the Bièvre river has its source. This 36 km long river crosses five departments of the Ile-de-France region, sometimes in the open air and sometimes underground, and disappears into Paris where it joins the Seine. In this authentic place you will discover rural houses, as well as a farm and remarkable residences such as the Hermitage. The route continues with a bird's eye view of Bouygues Challenger's head office, a huge company building in neo-classical architectural style, then through the Bois de la Minière and the Bois de la Grille. We admire in passing the farm of Châteauneuf and the church of Saint-Victor. Then direction the hamlet of Plan de Troux, former possession of the ladies of Port-Royal, to reach the district of Les Garennes, one of the first of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines. End of the walk with the return to the Parc des Sources de la Bièvre.
