PONT LEVIS HÔTEL * * * *
Superb hotel in Carcassonne with one of the most beautiful views of the Cité
If we were to draw up a list of the city's most surprising hotels, this would certainly be at the top of the list. This 18th-century building, now owned by Franck Putelat who also owns the restaurant Le Parc and the new "A quatre temps" brewery in the city centre. It was once a gastronomic restaurant and was abandoned for years but major works have been carried out to transform it into a superb independent hotel offering luxury, design and pleasure, against the backdrop of the city of Carcassonne. The materials used for this restoration were judiciously chosen: Corten steel, wood and marble, all enhanced with meticulous lighting effects giving the whole a contemporary atmosphere which subtly evokes the medieval past of the city. The rooms, which are sometimes extravagant and sometimes wiser, are all unique and offer XXL comfort. Whether it is the room "Pont levis" with a bed that is (stable) supported by 4 large chains fixed to the ceiling or the one in the bathroom-cube with excessive dimensions, lined with red mosaic from floor to ceiling, they are all surprising. From the park overlooking the hotel or the swimming pool (11 x 4 m), you will enjoy the view of the millennial city. A beautiful place to enjoy one of the most beautiful views of the City.
