The Marbre et Terroir eco-museum was born of the desire of the people of Caunes to showcase the village's renowned heritage. Housed in a former industrial shed, the museum's collections focus on Caunes marble, viticulture, and period tools. The museum exhibits numerous works and samples, as well as evoking the history of marble, from its formation to its extraction, through to its modification for material or artistic use.

Open June to September, every afternoon, the rest of the year by appointment for groups. Possibility of group ticket with Abbaye de Caunes (abbey entrance + ecomuseum entrance: €8 instead of €10). Adults: €4. Credit cards and cheques not accepted. Guided tour (booking required).

Beaucoup exposants très intéressant et une belle conférence sur les compagnons du Devoir où l'on fait des découvertes sur notre environnement étonnantes

Un musée sympathique à découvrir de préférence en jumelage avec l'abbaye. On découvre avec intérêt l'histoire autour du marbre. Beaucoup d'éléments à lire, des vidéos claires. Un petit regret quant au fait que cela n'est pas très accessible ou ludique pour les enfants. C'est bien dommage. J'ai beaucoup apprécié le travail des photographies "visages de marbre".

Très intéressant. On y apprend la formation du marbre et son exploitation par des images et vidéos. Dommage qu'il n'y ai rien sur les méthodes de sculptures.
