CHÂTEAU HAUT-BOURCIER
5 km from Blaye, Château Haut-Bourcier has been a family business since 1880. With its 38 hectares, the vineyard, awarded the Gold Medal at the 2018 General Agricultural Competition, is exposed to a clay and limestone terroir that consists of 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot. The owners, Philippe and Anne Marie Bourcier, joined by their 3 children, opted in 1999 for the restructuring of the vineyard, which constitutes a re-planting, leaf thinning and green harvesting. Since then, year after year, this has improved the quality of the wines of Château Haut-Bourcier. The castle also offers charming Bed and Breakfast rooms. The Maison de Jean has 5 bedrooms, a heated and covered swimming pool, a pretty wooded park and a fishing pond. The visit of the cellars and the tasting of the wines are of course proposed.
