Sa commune de naissance lui consacre dans une salle de la Mairie un petit musée qui retrace sa vie et met l’accent sur ses inventions, le paléophone qui faute de développement ne verra pas le jour et deviendra le phonographe breveté par Thomas Edison. On y apprend aussi qu’il avait mis au point un procédé de photographie en couleurs. L’œuvre littéraire est bien sûr évoquée. L’entrée dans cette salle musée est gratuite, il suffit de se présenter au secrétariat de la mairie aux heures d’ouverture et contre votre pièce d’identité on vous remettra la clé de la salle pour votre visite instructive.
