Cap Leucate is a line of cliffs rising 50 m above sea level between Leucate and La Franqui. From this unspoilt part of the coastline, walkers can enjoy superb panoramic views of the coastline and hinterland. The cliff tops are home to an ancient lighthouse and semaphore on a huge plateau. Windswept Cap Leucate is also a paradise for paragliding enthusiasts. Those seeking protection from the tramontana winds can stop off at La Plagette, a popular local dune adjoining the cliffs.
