NEW PALAIS
A palace housing the apartments of the archbishops of Narbonne from 1632.
Created in the 19th century, the Palais Neuf houses the apartments of the archbishops of 1632 and artistic collections gathered since 1835. Visit the Audience Hall with its Louis XIII fireplace, the King's bedroom, as well as the dining room and its wood panelling. Major works: portraits of the French schools of the 16th and 18th centuries: Van der Meulen, Nattier, and the bust of Louis XIV by Coysevox. The Flemish school: Brueghel, Pickenoy, Italian: Tintoretto, or Spanish with Ribera. The fame of the Palais Neuf is due to its collection of orientalist works.
