GRANGE DE FONTCALVY
Cistercian barn among the fortified outbuildings of Fontfroide Abbey, vestiges serving as a backdrop for cultural activities.
This Cistercian barn, classified as a historical monument, was one of the fortified outbuildings of the Fontfroide Abbey. Established at the end of the 13th century, it was used to store and protect the fruit of the Cistercians' agricultural work. The barn had a square fortress-like plan and a military architecture that can still be seen in its imposing ruins. Nowadays, every summer, the remains of the barn are used as a backdrop for events.
