LA TOUR DE LA VIEILLE NOUVELLE
Signal tower used to monitor and defend the Port-la-Nouvelle coastline, built around 1742.
The ruins of the Vieille Nouvelle beach tower are located at the entrance to the Grau, north of Port-la-Nouvelle. Built around 1742, this signal tower was used to monitor and defend the coast. Its truncated-pyramid structure, with a square base, has the particularity of being made of Sainte-Lucie stone. Access is now only possible on foot, so you can enjoy a stroll along the beach and take full advantage of the elements. Watch out for the wind!
