NOTRE-DAME-DES-OUBIELS
Church built between 1285 and 1310 in homage to the numerous sheepfolds established on this territory.
Listed as a historical monument since 1973, the church was built between 1285 and 1310 as a tribute to the many sheepfolds established in this area(oubiels means "lambs" in Occitan), as evidenced by the lamb sculpted on the keystone. Its construction is the result of the will of Charles II the Lame (King of Sicily and nephew of Saint Louis), a prisoner of the Aragonese, to have three churches built near the place of his liberation in 1284. Nowadays, its remains can be contemplated after a walk in the heights of the town.
