CAVE MARQUIS DE SAINT-ESTÈPHE ET CHATELLENIE DE VERTHEUIL RÉUNIS
The estate comprises the vineyards of the Marquis de Saint-Estèphe and the châtellenie de Vertheuil. Some 70 winegrowers (40 hectares AOC Saint-Estèphe and 45 hectares AOC Haut Médoc) have come together. There's a cellar where you can shop, a 900-barrel cellar, a panoramic room, and guided tours by appointment - what better way to prepare for a tasting in the best possible conditions? The winery is ideally located just a few minutes from Château Cos d'Estournel and other key Médoc sites. The cooperative enables us to offer attractive prices, which is rare for grand crus. Our oenologists' opinion: Haut Médoc 2007 Chesnée des moines: deep black color with garnet highlights, fresh nose with hints of mimosa and menthol; very pleasant, though straightforward palate with angular tannins.
Marquis de Saint-Estèphe cuvée prestige 2007: intense garnet-red color; toasty nose, shaken red fruits, spicy, clove-like notes. Harmonious, pleasantly fruity palate, woody notes, pleasant attack, dry finish, silky tannins.
