LA CHAPELLE DE LA ROQUE
La chapelle de la Roque, with interpretation tables on the themes of landscape and Clairette in Adissan.
La Chapelle de la Roque lies in a pretty bunch of pine trees, a few kilometres from the centre of Adissan. Its history, quite recent for the region, is celebrated every 21st May by the locals. It dates back to 1851 and to the epidemic of suette, an ancient infectious disease, which caused the death of many inhabitants. At that time, the Adissanese made a vow to the Virgin to build a chapel in her honour if she would stop the spread. Their wish was granted and the chapel was built on the hill overlooking the village on its northern slope. On site, the belvedere has interpretation tables on the themes of landscape and Clairette.
