SAINT-SAUVEUR CHURCH
The church of Saint Sauveur is an important part of the majestic abbey built by Saint Benedict of Aniane in 782 and then destroyed during the religious conflicts of the 16th century. Thanks to a reconstruction project, it was reborn from its ashes between the 17th and 18th centuries. It is a homogeneous example of the French classical architecture of the time. The interior, impressive for the height of the nave, presents a great unity of style in spite of the altarpiece, the altar of the Virgin. The 18th century organ is a fine example of Regency woodwork.
