FOUNTAIN AND COAT OF ARMS OF THE TOWN
Fountain representing Bacchus and a mosaic coat of arms representing Saint-Maurice, the patron saint of the city in Balaruc-le-Vieux
At the beginning of the Promenade des Remparts, starting from the Place du Jeu de Ballon, you can discover a fountain representing Bacchus, a tribute to the winegrowing past of the city. In addition to the fountain, you will find a mosaic coat of arms representing St Maurice, patron saint of the city, as well as the arms of Balaruc-le-Vieux which are blazoned as follows: "of gules with a St Maurice on horseback of gold holding in his dexter hand a banner of silver charged with a cross also of gules".
